Overview

PsyZenLab is built local-first: for most features, your data never leaves your device. This policy explains what stays local, which narrow cases involve third parties, and what choices you have.

Local-first: data that never leaves your device

The following is stored only in your browser's localStorage or sessionStorage. Our servers do not see it:

·Psychological test answers, scores, and result types (MBTI type, stress level, etc.)
·Zen Space state (reader progress, volumes, night-mode preference, time-of-day tint, etc.)
·Daily Zen mood check-ins
·Personalized meditation session cache
·Language and theme preferences

Dreams: what you type is sent to an AI provider

When you use the "Dreams" feature, the dream text you enter is forwarded through OpenRouter to Anthropic's Claude model to generate a response. Note:

·Your dream text leaves your device and passes through OpenRouter and Anthropic servers; their data handling is governed by their respective policies
·We do not persist your dream text or the generated response on our own servers; the response is shown only for the current session and cached in your local browser
·A per-day rate limit applies; that counter is stored locally as well
·Do not enter content that identifies other people or that you are not comfortable processing through a third-party AI

Server access logs

As with any website, the hosting provider produces basic access logs, used only for troubleshooting and traffic analytics:

·IP address (short retention)
·Request timestamp, URL, HTTP status
·User-Agent and Referer headers

Cookies

We use only essential cookies (e.g. saving your language preference). You may clear or disable cookies in your browser; some preferences may need to be set again afterwards.

Ads (non-Chinese locales only)

Non-Chinese pages include Google AdSense. AdSense uses its own cookies and technologies to select and display ads; their practices follow Google's ad and privacy policies. The Chinese edition does not display third-party ads.

Third-party services

We use third parties only for the following narrow purposes:

·Vercel: site hosting and access logs
·Google Fonts: font loading (Google may log the requesting IP)
·Google AdSense: ads on non-Chinese pages
·OpenRouter + Anthropic Claude: AI inference exclusively for the Dreams feature
·Ko-fi: donation page for international users
·WeChat Pay / Alipay QR: donation checkout for Chinese users — the payment happens inside Tencent/Alibaba apps; we never see payment credentials

Security

The site uses HTTPS end-to-end. Because most data lives only in your local browser, you remain the primary custodian — please protect device and browser access accordingly.

Your rights

For your local data you can:

·Delete everything by clearing your browser's site data
·Choose not to use the Dreams feature, avoiding any outbound text
·Email us with any question about our data practices

Children

The service is not intended for children under 13. If you are a guardian and discover that a child has submitted identifying content (e.g. through Dreams), contact us for help.

Policy changes

The "Last Updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be highlighted on the page.
